Oldyear Question
Said the last wrinkled brown leaf,
falling toward late dark ecstatic ground
crumbling into wet somber grass,
to the twig
belatedly letting go,
What does eternal healthy life feel like?
But, remembered romance,
enchantment,
resilient nurturing radiance
before and after
twig's silently reassuring
timeless non-reply.
