Old Poems

I’m reading old poems that I wrote; (Most are wonderful, if I can gloat!) Many capture events That my old brain prevents Recollecting, from times now remote. I’m remembering travels and days, Each occasion my writing portrays, That I thought I’d forgot But apparently not For when written, each memory stays.

I've been going over old poems to update a few for my new book, its been amazing looking back over 10 years of writing, its rather like a diary and yes, I can have forgotten so many and think, gee that's; good did I really write that lol:-) hugs Jan xx

I often read my poems of years ago – not for nostalgia rather to edit the dumb mistakes I made, either in spelling, wrong choice of words, or punctuation. It makes me feel a tad smarter I force myself to believe. / Maurice

it is so cool to dig up an old poem and thinking to oneself, oh wow, I actually wrote that!! I have some I hardly recall writing and others that bring back wonderful memories like you mentioned in this charming poem.
