Old Memories

Old memories I remember when I was young. I lived in a very different place and thought very different thoughts There was no stress And everything was simple Once I saw my sister in a tree And I had no idea how she got up there I ended up thinking that she did it by Jumping from the window that was so far away Crazy how my mind was so free As free as a feather floating through the sky I remember the "cottony" trees, as I called them They let their cotton fly free every year And I'd wish upon all the ones I managed to catch I'd wish upon many things And hoped that I'd fulfill my dreams And I even still dream today And wish and believe I even let my mind be free Especially when I grab my pen And starting writing all the thoughts that come to me. -Megan

Megan, I enjoyed reading your nostalgic poem. Memories can be sweet or bitter. I prefer happy memories. ~ Sonia
