Mama Bear Poet Quatrain

Old Friend

We haven't been in touch for years
Our paths took us a different way
We've just connected yet again
Today feels just like yesterday

We have an awful lot to say
About the things that we have done
Some Memories so good to relive
While others they are not much fun

It seems some years have not been kind
Thankfully now our health is fine
We talk about the good old days
Our lives have aged just like fine wine

It will be nice to keep in touch
I'm glad an effort has been made
We've reclaimed friendship once again
This is a gift I would not trade

Mama Bear February 15, 2014 at 12:36 PM This was someone I grew up with and had many fond memories of this part of my life. Too bad the memories were not reality. Donna Jones February 15, 2014 at 8:17 AM I'm sorry your reunion didn't go well....time steals some peoples loyalty and sense of trust I think...very sad....I think some people stay the same..way their whole lives and because of hidden burdens or pain they might be afraid you can see..old friends are allusive like that...maybe just want you to remember them like they were...a lot can happen to someone in twenty years...good or maybe very bad things Donna Jones February 15, 2014 at 8:18 AM PS...you wrote this very well....:-) :-) :-) :-)
