Old Apple Tree Hiku Trio

an old apple tree where a house stands abandoned . . . limbs with empty nests hanging from the tree - a child’s swing from long ago swaying in fall’s breeze scattered on the ground round the trunk of the old tree . . . red, ripened apples

I felt the emptiness of the abandoned house and the childless swing hanging from the tree. Poignant. (I love old, abandoned houses, especially the century-old farmhouses that dot the Texas countryside). Despite the emptiness, the apples flourish. I love the contrast...adds meaning and depth. Sara

I see a very opaque metaphor herein Andrea...the family, ripened in age, scattered...leaving the house and tree....branching out.
