Notes About The Poem

On three occasions have I experienced heartbreak and humiliation from a man whose name began with the letter  ' K ' 

In the year of 2023, I made a promise to myself that a man, or anyone for that matter with the first initial ' K'  would never seize control over my emotional well-being again.

 

O-K-A-Y

Your answer is as helpful as the ‘ay’ in Okay , when i asked you who she was. 

Nothing about your non-existent reassurance and understanding is OK 

Having to fundamentally teach a grown man what it means to communicate. 

At first thought, their same initials I sought humorous. 

Now my only response upon meeting an 11th alphabetical consonant is a disappointed vowel. 

‘O’ 

Fool me once, fool me twice, fool me a third time. But I will not let myself be fooled a fourth, Especially by a name which starts with the letter  

‘K’
