Oh why, oh why

Words are meaningless, now that the boy is gone. How can he not be here - he was so young and strong. Time won this game and the price was very high. If we could see him one more time again just to say goodbye. The cold sets in to numb the pain. The quiet I hear his laughter and see his grin… oh why oh why? Words are meaningless now the boy is gone. Medals, cards, photos are all what’s left of the beautiful young man. He knew the risks snd somehow accepted them - but was he really prepared to die? Words are meaningless as the days, weeks, months and years go by. The pain lives. I still hear his laughter and see his grin again and again. Words are meaningless. Just meaningless. Oh why oh why did he have to die?

War is a f'ing terrible killer. More so if one is young, taken well before they've lived their life to the full. I have to assume Medals refers to military service; otherwise if I am wrong, I apologise, but still send my heartfelt deepest sympathy to you and yours. I'm sorry for such a nightmare of loss, for you and anyone who loses their child through unexpected, or expected and unfair circumstances.
