Oh the Places You'Ll Miss
You have loose screws in your head.
And You have lead in your shoes.
How will you get ahead? How will you choose?
How will you ever decide where to go?
How will YOU? unless you get in the know.
You spend hours on I-gadgets.
but only seconds on homework.
How will you manage to get past the knee jerk?
How will you pass high school or go to college?
How will YOU? hope to gain much-needed knowledge?
Are you in a slump, just waiting to founder?
living in the waiting place, expecting a gift?
wondering what happened, why you got short shrift.
Wake up, dear student, before it's too late.
Learn how to learn, before you graduate.

take-off on Dr. Seuss book, Oh the Places You'll Go
for the senior student who grew up with Dr. Seuss
but needs motivation for some lazy habits.
