Oh, Spring, you are dipping your toes into winter’s melting waters,
And with outstretched arms you joyously smile;
You are breathing the perfume of budding gardens,
And you sing angelically through fresh winds soft and wild.
Oh, Spring, I hear bare-skinned children’s laughter calling,
Calling for skates and pools and summer’s fun,
But splashing now in your warm falling showers,
And outside in nights of stars like many oceans reflecting suns.
Oh, Spring through ice and dark and hibernating minds,
Cloistered and cold and wrapped like many sausages,
We have waited for you with dreams of jewel like hues, and
You are keeping your eternal promises.
