Oh Proud Songsters
O PROUD SONGSTERS
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Late winter, early spring,
perky cock robin redbreasts start to sing,
cock blackbirds follow suite,
jenny wrens don't stay mute.
Nature's choirs all astute.
Songsters, all ready for a springtime fling!
Summertime at its hight,
though through the year they sing with all their might.
Evening song, church bells call,
a merry Christmas all,
be you walk fly or crawl.
Human songsters singing for all's delight!
Autumn now, fresh breezes,
a little hint of cold winter freezes.
The wind song quizzical,
often quite physical!
Trees song so mystical,
their singing likened to snare drums teases.
Winter, bright if lucky.
Thanksgiving, Christmas, turkey, roast ducky!
Choirs singing carols,
barmen rolling barrels,
mums washing fresh sorrels.
Me, a songster, yes but very duffy!
