Oh Moon - My Moon Softly illuminating the midnight sky On silvery beams you serenely drift Tranquillity in the nighttime found Beholden to you for the solace you gift Trillions of secrets cast, confidence saved Just a trifle touched, I smiled as you blushed Beneath a canopy of twinkling stars As lovers dared to bare, inhibitions crushed Oh, silvery deity of this conscious night My innermost thoughts in you I confide Your constant presence is my comfort and joy Oh Moon, My Moon, you are my comrade and guide A custodian for lovers and the Muse’s aid Protect my journey through your comforting shade Maria Williams © 2023

Oh my beautiful soul! I absolutely love this poem, i am a selenophile. And i love the imagery youve painted here through your silvery words, so moving and artistic. Especially love “ my innermost thoughts in you i confide” dark may be everything around and the sky, but moon is a patient listener. I was going to post a moon sonnet too and then i see yours!
