Oh, Merry Tambourine

Oh, merry tambourine, shake-shake your beat. Entice our gypsy lady from her seat. Swirl her body. Make her show each bangle round her ankles. In your pulse entangle all of us with magic mirth replete! Turn and thrust and twist her hips petite. Let staccato move her tiny feet. Make her shimmy-shimmy with your jangle. Oh, merry tambourine. In the night, by fire, we feel the heat as you jingle for our gypsy sweet. As she moves in moonlight, at this angle, how her green eyes shimmer! Make her spangle, oh, merry tambourine! What u said about being a "poet of the mind" is EXACTLY why you MUST read those two authors.(E.Tolley...and Dr.R.Moss) They teach you exactly how to unchain the constraints of our minds, getting us out of saying " I don't think I can do that" ---Andrea, read the book "The Mendala of Being" ---I know you will absolutely be amazed with the results. I mean it! It helped me start to use portions of my brain that I knew were there, but could not unlock the doors to before! Give it a try! u Rock!

I just had another vision of Edie Brickel and the New Bohemians..."What I am, Is what I am, are you what you are or what?" Remember that song from the early 90's? This is EXACTLY why I read your stuff , it takes me to a cool spot. You are really good. Once I get situated, I want to spend more time on learning from you, if you allow. I am in the middle of moving from SC to Florida.

You don't have to be a gypsy to enjoy dancing to the sound of a "merry tambourine," Andrea. I like the beat and the images of this lady's dance very much in your poem. Best wishes for success in Francine's contest. Love, Carolyn

I picture you a flamenco dancer atop a table in a dimly lit taverna, tambourine in hand, tapping out poems with your feet.
