Oh Dear, What Can the Matter Be

Oh Dear, What Can the Matter Be Oh dear, what can the matter be; I hate this dreaded technology. This morning my computer was dead; had I known, I could have stayed in bed. They tell me that the hard drive has crashed; I can’t work today, my day is trashed. Oh dear, what can the matter be; I hate this dreaded technology. Last week my smart phone didn’t work as designed; my text’s went to my son’s phone, how unkind. They say it’s the result of Family Share, but if you don’t want to share, better beware. Oh dear, what can the matter be; I hate this dreaded technology; I fear it will be the death of me! January 30, 2018 Contest: Oh Dear, What Can The Matter Be Sponsor: Barry Stebbings

I definitely relate to this John lol. Technology is not my thing and my second poem I wrote is about one of my struggles with it. Fun read and enjoyed. Hugs, Emilia : )

Toe is still very sore but the bruise has nearly gone. It still looks like a mini fat sausage though lol. Thank you for asking John. Hugs Emilia : )

Thanks, Emilia, unfortunately this actually happened at my busiest time of the year at work. Technology is great when everything works but frustrating as hell when it doesn't. Hope your toe has healed. Hugs, John

Hah! You've really nailed the matter, at least as far as I'm concerned. It seems that all this tech is something we can neither live with nor live without. Grrrrrrin and Bear it, I guess. Congratulations on your well-deserved trophy. May there be many more headed your way. Best regards, Gershon

Thanks, Gershon, you are so right. Before I had a cell phone I never needed one, but now that I do, I couldn't survive without it. John

I can so relate, John. This poem hit it home for me. This smart technology is making us feel so dumb. Congrats on your well deserved win.

Hi John, I think well all can relate to this well written write.Technology can be so frustrating at times. I'm still learning how to use it. I think I'm still somewhat in the "stone age" when it comes to technology. Good write for the contest theme. I wish you the best of luck in the contest:-) Alexis

I know your day must have been frustrating so for that I apologize, but the bright side is that it spurred this wonderful poem. I share your sentiments on technology, John. I so hate technology unless I use it for chat and writing and even then, I sometimes take breaks for days at a time. Is an alarm clock considered technology? I bought a new one six months ago and still haven't figured out how to set the alarm so guess what? I use my cell phone! Good luck in the contest, Dear.

Great piece John, and how true of technology today, great when it's working, but when it doesn't grrrrr. My comp has nearly gone out the window on many an occasion. Bring back paper and ink I say. Good luck in the contest. Regards Tom.

Thanks, Jan, me to! This is a true story, that's why I'm writing poems instead of working; oh well, that's what I'd rather be doing anyway. John
