A Rispetto is a type of poem that is made up of two rhyming quatrains that follow a strict meter. This complete poem is structured with a meter that typically looks like the following: abab ccdd, although there are, of course, other variations that can be had as well. A rispetto often tells a tale or theme of Tuscan folklore, and can be considered a type of lyric within poetry.

The rispetto lyric is generally composed of eight hendecasyllabic (11-syllable) lines. In its earliest form the rhyme scheme was usually abababcc. Later, the scheme ababccdd became more prominent, and other variations can also be found. Normally using 8 syllables.

I wanted to try both types of the Rispetto form. The first one is 11 syllables and the second is 8. I know the Iambic tetrameter is not perfect.
Ignorance fails to hear a heart's silent cry, when love is seen as collateral damage. Even Tuscan sunsets cannot help tears dry, when insults leave behind unwanted baggage. Oh Cupid, why are you such a blind buffoon, firing arrows like gunfights in a saloon. Do romantic battles of mortals amuse, or do modern day relationships confuse? Cupid the mischievous brat, saw him trying to kiss my girl, told him I'd make his brains go splat. He just pranced in a merry twirl. As he aimed arrows at my heart, I threw at him an archer's dart. I said: "There's something you should know." I've got Robin Hood's famous bow!

Cupid has abused his power. Good thing he can't hit the broad side of a barn or bad thing? Eros tipped with salt and venom

How unique and different is this poem compared to what i just read , you write in various forms and themes in so many ways which shows how versatile you are as a poet and writer. I did rispetto too recently but these meters arent my thing, as english is my third language. Hah. U absolutely love the light hearted way you’ve conveyed this but also it left me speechless as i read about gunfire in a salon, whoa! Thats intense and creative. And i love the ending too: very deep and evocative plus

Your invitation to Cupid echoes equally in both 11 and 8 syllables, my friend. Verse of love and romance always rhymes with wishes stemming from a lovesome heart.
