Ogling With Intent To Gawk

Oh, that voice in my head I just did what it said Invisible footprints I followed - they led A colorful leaf On a breeze – fluttered by A wonderful sight Brought a tear to my eye A sign on a pole said “mask up or die” I didn’t know whether To laugh – or to cry As an old feral cat Tore the head off a sparrow I struggled to walk The straight – and the narrow A squirrel on a fence Spouting elegant chatter Kept stuffing in acorns His cheeks getting fatter The tick of the clock An ancient old thing Reminded me that The cuckcoo must sing The song that’s imbedded In levers and gears Devoid of all feeling Of hopes and of fears I swing on a pendulum Forward and back A feral cat and a squirrel Tied up in time’s sack John G. This is awesome, John. Perfect for a world gone cuckoo. Love it. ~ Gershon

Thanks Gershon, it would seem that satire and humor are appreciated less and less in these caustic times.
