Wisdom is
the pebble
remains
of a mountain
chipped
away.

Maureen this is so very true, and it follows a Chinese saying, "Respect wisdom, not old age." Even if the mountain has become a pebble in old age; if it gained no wisdom along the way it is just a stone. I'm sure you've picked up some stones that know more then some mountains. Thanks always Maureen.

Thanks for this reply Maureen. It's always cool to read about the poem from the poet's point of view. The making of or the meaning of; the creative process.

I like that. I actually started writing "on trauma" but the contest said no compound sentences, would have been stone not pebble, and "if not the mark of your grave", but I loved the first bit so much I found another word to fit ;) Doubt it's a contender but I'm pleased with it. xomo!
