Of Love I Ask

Of Love I Ask Who do we ask love from? Who do we expect love from? It is hard to say, when as a child you never felt it. I don't remember a hug, or a kiss, or anyone showing me love. If I were a child again, from my parents - I would like hugs and kisses. As a grownup I would ask for good advice and understanding. to me that would be love. No criticism - we get enough of that from other people. I would ask for support from my family. A family should be together in the good and the bad. From my mate I would want some tender loving care, supposing that he loved me. I would also want truthfulness, no lies and above all faithfulness. As a very young child I learned that I was not suppose to ask for anything, so I don't. We should never have to ask for love. Love is a gift that not everyone can give...

I believe that the strength of my love has an obligation to kindle the love in others I share life with Lucilla. You speak a truth here that seems sad, yet enlightening. Another divinely thought provoking poem Lucilla! J.A.B.

I never got hugs or kisses or any affection growing up either, so now I am overly affectionate, but my husband is not. it does complicate things. I wish I could give you a hug through the computer. Love is a good thing and should be given often *hugs*

It is so hard for some to show the love that they feel. It is such a confusing and delicate subject, and the children often suffer because of it. We learn so many things as children. You have come to the right place to receive love and caring. You are special and you are the recipient written hugs and kisses. Take care my lovely friend.... Robert.

Thank you Vera; yes my life was hard, but all that changed. My husband always showed me love. Every morning he gave me a kiss and told me he loved me. at night before we went to bed - he did the same. Now my friends show me their love, like you guys. may God feel your life with blessings.

Thank you David, now I know that I am not the only one. as a grownup - I would not tell someone I loved him if it wasn't true.

gosh, this makes me feel sad for you that your parents did not make you feel loved. I had kind of a messed up family life, but the love was real and I loved our family life! Hope you are taking it easy and getting stronger.

Thank you Andrea. My parents that raised me did love me in their own way. They just didn't show it.

Lucilla...my sweet dear friend. How you touched my heart strings with this write. I came from a family where love was very real. I learned to expect it. You are right. Not everyone knows how to love or speaks the same love language. Loved this peace. Thinking of you. <3

You are so right, but not all people know how to express love and that is sad.

It was the same way in my household. No signs of affection... I changed that and tell my kids I love them and I hug and kiss them....love Tim
