Former President Carter joined Habitat for Humanity, an all-volunteer organization which builds brand-new homes from scratch for poor people

Sometimes we dream Sometimes we do Which one's for you? President Jimmy Carter Made speech after speech Do you recall one word he said? Just who did he reach? Then he left office Picked up a shovel Built homes for the poor Replaced huts and hovels Jimmy Carter made speeches Mere promises, 'preaches' Then he built homes for the poor Changed folks' lives; that's for sure Sometimes we dream Sometimes we do Which one's for you?

Both of the Carters gave so much to the world; they were selfless. So different than self-servers. The opposite. What fantastic role models!

Yes, they really were the epitome of service to the nation. When did we last see such a President? ---Probably George Herbert Walker Bush... Will we such a President again? Hope so, but not likely in 2020. Thanks for this comment, Caren! :) gw

Only problem with Jimmy Carter was that in 1980, he cratered. LOL... Seriously, one has to give the man credit. He went to work for humanity. A President who actually has done something useful and helpful. Got to go back a ways to find another... ~ gw

My hubby likes to say 'Do or do not; there is no try' (of course that's from Star Wars) but I do think you can tell who is trying to make a difference by who picks up a shovel-

Appreciate the support here, P.S. I have to confess that I actually remember two words that he often said: "Trust me," as he cranked up that movie-star smile he used to have. America did, and we paid the price! Ha, ha. ~ gw
