Of Children There Are Three-My Lovely Children

Of children born to me, there are three
One on my heart, one on my lap, one on my knee

Comparison is impossible of them now
They are all so different somehow

One has a musical gift, one an artist
Another mechanical talents started

God blessed us with each child in so many ways
By the joy of each birth on their special day

Our son a handsome babe with a little downy hair
One daughter was a long girl with complexion so fair

Our youngest daughter had touch of red in her hair
Woke each morning early to greet us exhibiting gentle air

They each love God and are His adopted child
Growing each day in His love and mercy mild

I thank God that I got to know them from birth
It is so great to see them develop into souls of worth

Daniel, Thanks for stopping by..Yes, a mother can love the homeliest child and the child who needs are hard to meet..I don't see how some get through what they go through in rearing a family..Sara

One son, two daughters. I too found that to be the perfect trio. He was oldest and always looked after his sisters. Congratulation on your family and your poetry. Love, Joyce

Lovely, Sara. Nothing is as dear as a child. May God bless your three grown kids, dear. Mine is 21....and she'll always be my baby.

Eileen, 21 is a good age..They are adult and parents can see that it was worth all the work that went into the rearing of that child..Sara
