Ode To the Eagles

Yes, to the dance and party at Hotel California.
You love the flirting game with pretty maids all in a row.
No more wasted time on the heartbreak endured in Georgia.
No sad desperado feel blocks your new, solo, man show.

You love the flirting game with pretty maids all in a row.
In the city, fantasy landscapes entice your lost heart.
No sad desperado feel blocks your new, solo, man show.
You believe life in the fast lane is a game you play smart.

In the city, fantasy landscapes entice your lost heart.
You long to dance sloshed into the morn’s tequila sunrise.
You believe life in the fast lane is a game you play smart.
I can’t tell you why your emotion seeks downtown tinged skies.

You long to dance sloshed into the morn’s tequila sunrise.
You’ll take one more skin or gin shot in a New York minute.
I can’t tell you why your emotion seeks downtown tinged skies.
A certain kind of fool with a broken heart, can’t mend it.

You’ll take one more skin or gin shot in a New York minute.
No more wasted time on the heartbreak endured in Georgia.
A certain kind of fool with a broken heart, can’t mend it.
Yes, to the dance and party at Hotel California.

By the way, I've never minded if I were number one community builder or not. It just happened naturally. I only felt bad when I had to miss a week for vacation or something and would fall beneath number 7!!! Right now I'm at 5, my lucky number, so I am fine by that.

Oh Caycay, was this the one we did for Silent One based on song titles? I remember that. I did Taylor Swift songs and mine was REALLY long. This was a cool and jazzy write. I think an Eagles fan would really "get it." I had copied and pasted my fave line to show you and then I glanced down and saw that I mentioned that exact line over a year ago when i commented on this one: You long to dance sloshed into the morn’s tequila sunrise. HAHAHA

The Eagles! My very favorite and so fun to be at home with every single line here. Love the use of this genre to tell a story chaining together the lyrics from the Hell Freezes Over album. Done very well! As we know, any lyrics are a biography of the author or his/her fears, struggles, goals, history, & dreams. You did a lot of problem solving and juggling! Just Great!

This is so impressive CayCay! I would never even attempt this form, let alone all the titles you have had to include. Brava Lady! Even if this isn't a top winner you can take pride in knowing you accomplished something many others wouldn't even try, like me. A wonderful entry for this contest my friend! #7 ; )

wow, you chose the Eagles!! you are a real 70's gal, my friend. Love those songs too. Great job working them into your pantoum. I especially loved the sloshed line!! As for MY musical pantoum, I am holding off on posting it. Comments and reads are coming as slow around here as pulling teeth!! ( wonder if you can ever guess whose songs I chose to emulate!!)

Don't fight it, they are great songs to have playing in your head. Sad over the loss of Glenn Fry, I felt compelled to go with the Eagles for this contest. Thank you for your kind comments ... CayCay
