Ode to Quiet Comfort

Street lamps tint our room with dim light
The muffled TV hums
Your skin on mine throughout the night
A comfort second to none

Soft and warm under the covers
Your fingers trace my own
Peace is here with one another
By your side, I am home

Our breaths combine
I’m yours, you’re mine
Our veins, our thoughts, our cells entwined
I love you, my dear, down to my bones
