Ode To Hillary Clinton

Hillary Clinton held her head high
when losing both the Presidential elections
she graciously stepped aside.
She more than qualified for all held positions.
Such as counselor in her jurisdiction.
And as First Lady of the Nation
she deserves a standing ovation.
As Senator of New York
she proudly held the torch
for that we have no remorse.
Diligently served as president Obama's
Secretary of State.
With whom no other traveled at her rate.
She won the popular vote so winning
the 2016 election was no laughing joke.

Yes, I remember the popular vote was for Hillary. She's taken a lot of criticism, but she is a strong woman who seems committed to public service. You did a fine job on your poem, Michael. I wish Hillary could read it; the poem would lift her spirits. Congratulations on your win!

Congratulations Michael on your 9th place win in the Ode for a Leader or Politician Past or Present contest. I enjoyed reading it, thanks for entering it. You did honor her well but the personal connection got lost, just a nit, judging is difficult, lol.

While I am not a Hillary fan, I am a fan of positive thought and you poetically listed her positive traits (of which she has many) to meet the contest requirements and then some. Well done. I see that you placed in the contest and that delights me, Michael. Poetry hugs ... CayCay

Despite the comment I see down here, I do feel that she would have been better for our nation than a Trumpster. Anyway, I hear all these bad things about her that taint her, and I honestly do not know what to think. I DO think that the way your wrote this poem was awesome!
