Notes About The Poem

Though I don't know Caren's Mother, somehow I am sure that she was so very proud of her wonderful daughter, the remarkable Caren whom we all know and love --- and whom we wish no more sorrow.  May she be comforted by her family, her friends, and her faith.

Ode To Caren's Mother

Sure she was proud of her sprite-like daughter
   Must have been hard to keep a straight face
                    When she, as a mother, knew she oughter 

From her collection of unusual pets
   To all those unique children she had to test
From her inspired canvas creations
   To her poems on all topics and denominations

Sure she was proud of her wonderful daughter
   Whose wonderful mother is now up with saintly others

Her memorial service was full of laughter and the best stories I had ever heard. My daughter Angela gave the eulogy, and it was phenomenal. We had a fine day on Sunday!
