' Ode To a Road ... '

Into A Gold Sunset
And Silver Twilight Stars
Into Darkness of A Desert
And Coyote Choirs

And A Cold, Lonely Wind
Which Touches Warm Skin
And Stretches of Sand
On and On, Without End

On A Black-Top Road
By A Car’s High Beam
Heard An Oil Rig’s Ode
Lit, Like A Castle-Dream

Awake On An Interstate
Driving 101 – West
High Noon, Thru A Desert
Into A Gold Sunset …
