Ode to a leaf blower
While relaxing in a garden chair
the sun was shining, the weather fair;
sweet scent of jasmine filled the air.
It really seemed a pleasure to be there,
when a gardener arrived in the neighbour's lair.
The job in hand being leaves to clear
I would have used a rake if one was spare,
but he had a blower he started with flair.
A discordant noise fractured still air.
Over the wall I peered with a stare
witnessing leaves piled layer upon layer.
I wouldn't be heard if to curse I did dare.
My intent was served as a gust did tear
and scatter those leaves everywhere.
So here's a moral I'll with you share:
the wind itself is a useful player
at gathering leaves with natural care
providing leaf mould for use anywhere.
