Ode To a Crap Fruit Diet

I've started my stand-by diet: a few different fruits each day, and having repeated it time and again, I feel qualified to say apples, unless of a rare and crisp nature, are mushy and generally gross. Halfway into the core of one, I'm still starving and feeling morose. The diet's mainstay, pineapple, for its fat-burning enzymes revered, when fresh, is somewhat palatable. If it's green, though, ones mouth can be seared. And that popular phallic banana, which when peeled, fast begins to rot: That one I'll leave for the monkeys though it's garnish for sundaes or not! Tomorrow I'm finally in for a treat. It's a watermelon to eat. But for all my thumping to test for its ripeness, it well could taste flat and not sweet. Blueberries, too, and cherries are good. I wish there were more fruits like these. However, I long to see them all "berried" ‘neath Cool Whip atop cream cheese. Plums or grapes, frozen or plain, "not bad" until they are dried. By the time I'm consuming ghastly prunes, I'll be famished for food that is fried! Mangoes, too, are on my list of what I must partake. But (gag me) their texture lends the sensation I'm swallowing snails or a snake. I've noticed of late with this regimen, its slimming magic is slowing as with each precious year's dissolution, my metabolism's lowering. Next week (so I say) I'll banish forever this obsolete, once-potent "cure". It long since has extracted from me any craving for food that is pure. With a dull kitchen knife I took my papaya today and reverently sawed it. With its flavor lingering there on my tongue, it struck me it hinted of vomit. *I'm not a big fruit eater as this shows!! This is a diet I will no longer pursue! Next I should do a poem on how sickening it gets eating salads day after day. Jan. 27, 2017 for Jamie Pan's "It's time for hilarious poetries"

A fun read, Andrea. You thought you could slip in a little "phallic banana"...?!

I recently read where 3 to 4 cups of green or I guess black tea or what ever it said is a good source of something that is supposed to help alleviate weight gain and induce weight loss. :) :) :) Whatever huh? Moderation in diet and being active, that's the ticket. Good luck to those of us who, well, I'm going to get up now and get a snack. ;/

Hello dear poet...the best diet Andrea is the walking diet, trust me....I once, believe it or not was 265 pounds and it was manditory that I lose the weight...I tried everything, and mind ya, I am a hair away of being the vegan since the age off 22, yet one can gain the weight with bread butter cheeze chicken and some fishes...anywho...walk four miles a day...two one way and two back...one would be surprized...much love, james

Oh...this was hilariously good. I've been on a pear diet. Torture. Then a fat burning soup diet. It's all such a pain. The fun part is getting to read this.

i just love your poetry Andrea, in fact i could pig-out on it, as for food, the secret is to eat anything and everything you like, only though in moderation. all the diet programs today are there to make money for someone, typical of the modern era, where to introduce a problem, so to find a solution, which and where the user pays...

haha, on what you said about capcha. Exactly right, Harry. This was written on something that happened years ago. I do NOT do diets any more. I just try to be careful.

Cherries they say are good to clean your teeth, so eat them last! I should eat more fruit too! A very funny read, Andrea!

That's what I see when I open the fridge with raspberries, kiwi, pomegranate all covering my top shelf along side the almond milk...My daughter, the gymnast, makes all her own smoothies and granola mix...I'll get her recipe...It doesn't taste that bad.

Two fruits excite me: blueberries and tangerines. AND I think the appearance of clementines somehow messed with my tangerines! This took a lot of thought, and like peeling some fruit, you ended up with an ideal, intact product. Enjoyable read - I did smile. Love ... CayCay

cherries are nice. But you have to take out the stupid pit and get purple fingers doing it. I actually love watermelons but rarely get a super sweet one like they had back in Iowa. Soupmail.

Back in my 20's I went on the Beverly Hills Diet. i was living in Hawaii with all of that wonderful fruit! This diet is the worst, leaves you with cravings galore! Someone brought in wheat thins...i wanted to snatch the whole box! LOL I did like the Maximum Metabolism diet but I did not go for there supplements. Found out later that some people were dying from one of those...so always be careful! Cherries I love!

yes, cherries are great too. I am not actually on this diet. Just writing about it! I did it three times and never tried it again. It completely lost its effectiveness the third and last time I did it. Protein diets are actually the best ones that work for me.

Not to mention time spent in the Loo or that vapor trail you leave in your wake. Better take in some solids before it's to late...

It did not effect me that way! I am not usually affected by any foods in a negative way.
