Ode To a Broken Heart

Love is a horrible thing You get wrapped up in love and all the happiness it can bring Love for another gives you false hope You think every thing will be alright and then your heart is snapped like a rope Love fills the void deep in your chest But when it is gone it is replaced with defeat and self-detest Self hatred for getting caught up In love that fills you only to be pored out like a cup A saying goes that if life gives you lemons then make lemonade In life love is sugar and once the drink has been made Like love, you drink it all up, but then it is gone After its gone you are left up a creek You feel heartbroken, used, powerless and weak Love makes you feel safe like nothing can harm It draws you in with its allure and charm But then it snaps you clear in two Leaving your eyes filled with tears that spew So is ask myself is love really worth its cost You open yourself up and then, all the sudden its lost.
