Octopus

the Octopus is strong
no longer lies beneath deep oceans
but lingers all around
tentacles flail through keystrokes of the fool
unaware
sunk
shipwrecked with ***********
we hear her diabolical roar
seeps under
stings with mighty suckers
we swim away only to be sideswiped by her medicine
her unholy device
no match for her biology
tangled in that
eight armed sinister swim

can we win?

eyes
not completely sure
but there's hope in our human resiliency.,

Excellent write, Robo; merits a top7 rating. The octopus used to be organized crime, but its tentacles represent also politics, religion, etc. Can we beat it? Maybe not, but are we cowards to give up without a fight!! we can limit its powers, restrain its movement, use our good resources and better judgment. // paul

I think MAtt came close in his assessment of what the octopus represents, didn't he? I enjoyed reading this one. Yes it is so great to have you back!

You are using the octopus as a symbol for something else. I like the ending - it is hopeful. What does the octopus symbolize in this poem? Could it stand for the decadence of our society? Peace & Blessings Matthew Anish
