October Calls In Wondrous Hues

October calls in wondrous hues
Autumn's finery is on display,
Her final flourish, for winter's due
The snow queen's touch is on the way.

Autumn's finery is on display
A tapestry 'fore winter's dearth,
The snow queen's touch is on the way
Sweet autumn shows for all she's worth.

A tapestry 'fore winter's dearth
Her final flourish for winter's due,
Sweet autumn shows for all she's worth
October calls, in wondrous hues.

This is one of the best I've read to date, Gary with flashbacks to 'The lion, the witch and the wardrobe!) I thought that the brevity of the lines complemented the sense of the winter's imminent return.
