Ocean's Embrace, A Warrior's Heart
Ocean's Embrace, A Warrior's Heart
Shattered news, a whispered word,
"Cancer," they said, my world was blurred.
A mammogram's shadow, stark and deep,
A secret held I couldn't keep.
My chest, once strong, now felt so frail,
A storm of fear, a silent wail.
The surgeon's smile, a gentle hand,
But fear still gripped this weary land.
Yet in this darkness, deep and vast,
My mind would drift to fins so fast.
To oceans wide, where giants roam,
Where sharks in silent beauty call home.
Their strength, their grace, a primal might,
Cutting through waves, a wondrous sight.
No fear they know, no faltering stride,
Just power flowing with the tide.
A paradox, this life I lead,
A fragile body, a hopeful creed.
One moment, tears that gently fall,
The next, a shark's majestic call.
For in their eyes, I find a gleam,
A wildness in a waking dream.
They fight to live, with tooth and claw,
Obeying nature's ancient law.
So I, too, fight, with every breath,
Against this whisper of slow death.
With scars I'll wear, a testament bold,
A story of courage, to be told.
And as I heal, and find my way,
I'll dream of sharks, come what may.
A bittersweet symphony, sad and true,
Of life, and loss, and breaking through.
For in the depths, where shadows lie,
A shark's fierce spirit helps me fly.
