Oblong Faces
She asked her daughter to explain fully
How she became the target of a female bully
“The bully said I have an odd, long face
The kids cried, ‘Disgrace, disgrace, disgrace!’”
“Oh Mom, please, is it true?
Is my face odd and long, I’m asking you?”
Oh sweetie, I’m sure you heard it wrong,
No doubt what she said was O-B, oblong
“Oblong? Oblong? That sounds worse!
What is an Ob? It sounds like a curse!l”
No, no, my precious there is no disgrace
Many famous women have an oblong face
“Famous women? I hope it’s true
But can an oblong face be pretty too?”
Of course they can be both famous and pretty
Some even viewed as most attractive and witty
“Who are they, Mom, please tell me who?
What are their names? Who? Who? Who?”
Kim Kardashian, Carrie Underwood, Liv Tyler
Victoria Beckham, Maggie Q, Sara Jessica Parker
Meryl Streep, Angelina Jolie, Lisa Kudrow
Courtney Cox, Mika Jovovich, Gwyneth Paltrow
“Mom, I don’t know who those people are …”
That’s ok dear, each one is a star!
Having an oblong face is a reason for pride
A good thing not bad—no reason to hide
“Thank you, mom, I feel so much better
When that bully shows up I’ll just laugh and forget her!”
Mom’s huge hugs are always the best
Helping us see how much we are blessed
