I yearn to obey You, dear Jesus To do Thy Will and not my own I want to be who You say I am Not someone I don’t like at all I hunger for Your acceptance And reach out for Your hand To lead me in the right direction To joy, peace and love that abounds I desire Your sweetest compassion The reassurance that I’m saved From sin and hell, all that it encompasses The far reaching shadows of the grave I thirst for Your gentle guidance Helping me to always find a way To discover the grace in every heart And the peace that protects my mind I crave Your unconditional love for me A love that knows no restraints at all Love that is so alive for me that I can’t Help feeling so assured of it’s glory I implore You to always find a way for me To take the time to give generously With a heart that aspires to be as Yours So tender and warm that it always understands I beseech You to find a way for me to go Where I can always learn lessons from above Lessons of joy, hope, faith, truth and love That is greater than any gift I could ever earn I pray to You, dear Jesus, that You will stay by my side Forever a friend that leads me to do what is right And give to others a sense of all that You’ve instructed Kindness, acceptance, wisdom, welcoming, true love I love You with all of my heart, sweet Jesus And want You to know all my thoughts That seek to find ways to bring to You The greatest gifts that can come from me
