O Tempora! O Mores!

This poem was written near the end of the Bush administration.

O Tempora! O Mores! My good friends!
These last injurious years we endured
Under another feckless George will end
Soon. We suffered immensely rest assured.
O Tempora! O Moses! What is this
Nation coming to? No Philippic words
Can ease the angst. Let us not reminisce
Those years. What's past is past. Let's look forward.
Oh, the times! Oh, god help us! Give us strength
To overcome the damage done by him.
Bear in mind his influence will, at length
Be gone. In six months we shall sing this hymn:
We praise the lord for this land of plenty
Ridding us of George Bush and Dick Cheney.
