O Teenage Metabolism, Where Art Thou

When I was a teen, I would munch
My way through the whole Sunday brunch.
I'd destroy that buffet,
Then as we walked away,
I would ask my poor mother, "When's lunch?"

This reminiscence masterpiece has resuscitated my teenage chocolate and biscuits munching appetite Sometimes in nooks and canines, I did keep away and munch ;reprimands of my mama And one thing I did get disgusted of is skipping my Lunch ....no way!!!!!! So it goes into my fave Thanks for sharing John.

Loving this one again. This is the kind of poem I would definitely place as a numbered placement, not a mere HM. Remember, do not go the humorous route. heehee!!

If you ever find a way to restore that teenage metabolism, pleas pass along the secret, John. As funny as this limerick is, thee's also a lot of truth in it. Congratulations on your win! Hugs, Carolyn

Carolyn, as much as I miss my teenage metabolism, I do not miss the angst, acne, awkwardness, or the raging hormones! Thanks for the kind visit. Hugs ~ John

oh yeah I raised a couple sons and have seen that appetite … funny how it dwindled in time for them to pay for their own food... enjoyed this one... best wishes in the contest...

yes, where did it go???? I lost mine at age 14 (woman thing). Men are far more fortunate. They can go up to about age 30 and still eat like animals!!! Love this.

You're so right. My son just turned 30, so I'm advising him to watch his calories and stay active. It sneaks up on you! Thanks for the comment, my friend ~ John

I have a son who grew to 6'3" and could eat his weight it seemed. He was thin and always hungry. This well written Limerick reminded me of his youth. Excellent! xxoo
