Notes About The Poem

'o, Sweet Hummer'

A sweet hummingbird gives me great pleasure, I love their iridescent hovering; they are a gift from God and a treasure, how, lovely is their feather covering. Oh, listen and you can hear their wings beat, those long bills and longer tongues drinking nectar; they hover backwards and up-side down- repeat, hummer is a skilled nectar collector. There are many kinds of hummers in the world, vast plumage and sizes- like flying gems; nothing more stunning that a hummer curled, at pretty flowers on long swaying stems. Nothing is more beautiful than a dip for hummer- then after, a little drip. _______________________ May 9, 2018 - Edit Poetry/Sonnet/'O, Sweet Hummer Copyright Protected, ID 18-1112-338-01 All Rights Reserved.
