O, How I Miss-

look at the stars, look at how they shine for you… and everything you do, for you were the one who spread hope- learning to feel again, starving to cope- my best friend, once taken, now free- o, how i miss the you in me choosing death over love, an answer found not on a silent night but revealed in a raven’s rising flight- i flew as high as an ivory dove, for you were my light, you were the one who faded from sight when push came to shove; hues with shades meant to undo- o, my sweet sister, never knew you craved blue- o, how i miss the yellow in you constellations fear what you became, they danced when you were born and wept when you died- what we felt was not the same, now i sit on the balcony and mourn, thinking of your suicide look at the stars, look how they shine not for me; wearing withered scars, being who i wish not to be, rescue me from death’s debris- i lay on your worn blanket, and ask the gods why- for you are the magic holding the stars up in the sky... o, how i miss that sparkle in your eye ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I chose: "Look at the stars, look at how they shine for you and everything you do" - Coldplay - Yellow 2.10.20 Silent One

A sad poem, but beautiful dedication to your sister... We never stop hurting, just learn to live with the pain... Deeply emotive poetry and great take on that line... Congratulations on your first place in the contest...
