O Christmas Tree
O
Christmas tree ho hum.
Its scented needles unfurled.
The trunk plopped down and watered.
She sits, oh so still, like a good girl should.
Days and days later, she’s showered in tinsel,
dressed in lovely ornaments, gifted choice candy canes.
The Winter sun is placed on her head, warming her heart.
“Splendid,” she sighs, and then decadent wrapped boxes, drop
at her feet
on Xmas
Eve, a
twinkle in
the gifter’s eye.
