What's not to love?
  What's not to marvel at?
   At the mauve lilac dusk?
    At the smiling crescent moon?
     Moon glowing up above?
       Moon of extraordinary beauty
        Beauty of solitude
         Beauty of night sounds
          Sounds of Katydids
           Sounds of Nightjars
            Nightjars calling here and there
             Nightjars flying in the sky
              Sky of pitch-blackness
               Sky littered with fireflies
                Fireflies by the thousands!
                 Fireflies looking like stars
                  Stars wished upon
                   Stars of sheer wonder
                    Wonder without cease
                     Wonder so glorious
                      Glorious enchantment
                       Glorious Asteria
                       Asteria playing her lyre
                        Asteria serenading Nyx
                        Nyx, goddess of night
                        Nyx as well as Morpheus
Morpheus not resembling "The Matrix" one
                         Morpheus, the god of dreams
                         Dreams so serene
                         Dreams of twilight time
                        Time and tide
                        Time to repose
                        Repose peacefully
                        Repose out in the open
                        Open sesame
                       Open, refreshing night air
                      Air engendering comfort
                      Air engendering relaxation
                     Relaxation in midnight stillness
                    Relaxation quite delightful
                   Delightful crepuscular afterglow
                  Delightful ambience
                 Ambience captivating
                Ambience so inviting
               Inviting atmosphere
             Inviting spectacle
            Spectacle of moonlight
          Spectacle of nightfall
        Nightfall
       Moonlight

Never seen one before, Edward, but; on checking them out, yours is quite simply one of the best, loving the curve of the crescent moon which just added even more volume to the poem, brilliant . . . : )

Oh, Edward! You have really helped a fellow human being today -- me! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I have had insomnia on and off for four years now, and it's been extremely grim at times. BUT NOW, thanks to YOU, I am going to channel it into Nyctophilia. Why fight my 'problem?' Why not just embrace it?! I love you, man! You may have prolonged my life by years!... So grateful. A FAVE (Nice write too, by the way!!). Light and Joy, Gershon

Right, Gershon, time to make that matchstick plane you have always dreamed of to while away the night time hours . . . : )
