Ilene Bauer Poet Limerick

Nyah Nyah

When Nancy told Donald to wait
For his speech on a different date
He was naturally riled 
And, like any young child,
He responded by throwing his weight.

So he canceled the trip she had planned 
To see troops in a faraway land.
For the place where he's at
Has no tit without tat
And he has to prove he's in command.

Many children outgrow nyah nyah ways
But some carry them all of their days.
It's disheartening, though,
That such venom should flow,
Leaving all who read news in a daze.

Two bad somebody can't lock them in a room with each other and not let them out until a solution to the current border wall impasse is negotiated, signed, and sealed!! Then again, neither of them is able to actually think, it seems. As far as I'm concerned, they both 'gotta go!'...Nice limerick, Ilene :) gw

Carolyn Devonshire January 18, 2019 at 1:45 PM An outstanding limerick series on the disheartening events in Washington. Melania was flying to Florida on a government plane while Nancy and her group were being told to fly commercial. The dangers of flying are higher for everyone now because some of the TSA inspectors are affected by the government shutdown. We could talk about this for a long time, Ilene, but the poems you and Rico just penned are both favorites for me!
