Numbers All Alone

Number nine has no other numbers for company
Could be said as well as the number three
One is all alone that has to be said
Seven and eight also now enter my head

Two is considered by many as second best
Stands in solitude like so many of the rest
Four, five and six are the others that remain
Ending the sequence of the solitary number chain

Think of number ten onwards and you will find
Other numbers for company come readily to mind
I will leave it there as I'm just about to slumber
Dreaming no doubt of my lucky number
