Notice of Bereavement

Dear Poetry Soup Members,
My dear husband passed away peacefully in his sleep July 29th at home. We were together over forty years. My daughters are here to help and comfort me. My husband wanted no service but military honors. He served four years in the army in military intelligence (MI). Please forgive me if I am slow to respond to your wonderful sentiments and comments on my poetry. Love and blessings, Connie

Thank you very much Elaine. Poetry has been elusive since I lost my inspiration. I hope one day it will return. I miss the wonderful camaraderie of everyone here at Poetry Soup. I am doing well. I’m very busy over the holidays making out Christmas cards and getting my gifts for friends and family ready to mail. I just don’t have any inspiration to write any new poems. One day I hope to have some inspiration again. My husband is very much missed this time of year. I’m so happy I have my daughter and granddaughter here with me to bring me joy during the holidays. No explanation needed Connie. Your husband not wanting a service to me personally sounds like the type of character trait only very few remarkable humble human being would posess a silent super hero. He was that type a man who didn’t wanna fuss made over him. The Veteran service they gave him was very nice. They blew the bugle and had the flag folding which was presented to me. From the top of the hill side where Punch bowl military cemetery is you can see his high school down below. It is beautiful there. We are all missing him but doing well. Thank you. Blessings xxoo
