Nothing To Say

I don’t have an idea for a poem and I don’t know what to write,
But if I don’t get something down it will keep me up all night.

So please consider this a place-holder poem, sort of an IOU,
Until a better idea comes along this one will have to do.

Don’t be too critical of my efforts after all I told you it was fake,
So stop reading this now if you think that you’ve made a big mistake.

There’s not anything I will offer that’s even close to profound,
Only slightly whimsical poetic lines; by that I’m honor bound.

There’s nothing in these lines to make you remember what I’ve said,
But I have something to send out in the morning and now it’s time for bed.

So if this poem didn’t fit the bill just drop it in the delete column,
Remember that I’ll write another one tomorrow because I deal in volume.
