Nothing Stays the Same

NOTHING STAYS THE SAME

I feel…the tide roll in…
As it crashes on the shore
I’ve never felt so battered before
I felt the tide roll in

I see…the tide pull away…
Like, it’s got somewhere to go
Just where it goes…I’ll never know
I see the tide pull away

Chorus
And, I know now…that sometimes,
Everything must change
And, I see now…more clearly
That nothing stays the same
All I wanted was…to find love
Maybe…start a family
Is that too much to ask?
I’ll wait another day-
get on my knees and pray
That this misery too, will pass

Your hand is on the door…
I see…it’s time to leave
Please give me another chance to breathe
Your hand is on the door

You never said goodbye…
With so much left to say,
I tried to say it anyway…
You never said goodbye

Chorus
And, I know now…that sometimes,
Everything must change
And, I see now…more clearly
That nothing stays the same
All I wanted was…to find love
Maybe…start a family
Is that too much to ask?
I’ll wait another day-
get on my knees and pray
That this misery too, will pass

I feel…the tide roll in…
As it crashes on the shore
I’ve never felt so battered before
I felt the tide roll in

I see…the tide pull away…
Like, it’s got somewhere to go
Just where it goes…I’ll never know
I see the tide pull away

Chorus repeat and fade

You certainly know how to pen a lyric or two, John, that's for sure...I have never tried my hand at songwriting; I might just give it a go myself...if I can find a spare moment that is. All the very best! :) john

Thanks John for your kind visit to my humble ditty, yeah for me songwriting seems to be easier than poetry, so I give in to the line of least resistance more often. Sometimes when I see top quality writing like yours it moves me to try harder to push my limits in poetry, thanks for everything!
