r/flowers - Dying flowers are still pretty flower #poem #poetry #bloom #wither ...

nothing seems to last flowers weep faded petals a faint scent lingers once blooming in bright color my poems have lost their appeal emotions wither wilted words whirl in the wind bereft of beauty I strive to remain rooted hoping for droplets of love Eileen Manassian

Dear Eileen, your poetry blooms and then lingers, such a beautiful experience to embrace. Words always find a way to caress the page, and when the time is right. Many wonderful blessings to you. Hugs, Brandy

Great lyrics on the POTD. Maria has done that for me using AI several times. Always interesting how it turns out

Sending you some love. We somehow must reclaim the beauty, though it fades, enjoy the moments…somehow. Enjoyed your poem, Eileen! I can understand the emotions of your write!

Thanks for dropping by, dear. I can't seem to get back into the game on this site. :(

I know that saying “ you shouldn’t feel that way” is not very helpful, but I do hope you know that there are many here (including me!) who find your work wonderfully appealing, Eileen! I love “wilted words whirl in the wind,” even though it’s so sad…

Thank you, dear Ilene. You are always a joy to read and interact with. I appreciate the encouragement. I thought a bit of alliteration on that line would do the trick. I'm glad you found it appealing. Big hugs

Eileen such a sad yet beautiful poem....its obvious from this lovely write your poems have definitely not lost their appeal. P.S has changed and has lost (hopefully only temporarily!) It's lovely personal united feel....less interaction in general. Its not you or your amazing heartfelt words....you are an amazing poet! Debx

Hi, Deb. Thank you for taking the time to read and post. I really appreciate it. I'm feeling a big nostalgic for the good old days here. Things have certainly changed, and I'm not sure I like the changes. I'll keep trying to post. Summer session finishes on Wednesday, so I will have more time. Will be by to visit soon. Blessings. :)

Ed Sheeran’s words come to mind. “You’ll never grow old, your soul is evergreen.”

Awwwwww...thanks, Richard. You have been a constant for me here on the Soup. Our friendship goes way back and I hope that never changes. Big hugs.

Your poetry hasn't lost its appeal. You just need to find your new audience. Richard was a star here at one time and it's nice watching him trying his best to make a comeback. Social media isn't likely to change Eileen. It's all about giving and receiving. Establishing relationships. Being consistent. Yes, sometimes relationships wither, especially in cyber land. Plant new seeds. Watch them grow :)

True true. I have more time in my hands now, so I'll try to make the rounds. I just have to be in the right frame of mind for it.

Yeah I had the number one for several weeks recently and now I have none lol. It seems POTD, potw and contest wins rank highest. I don't enter many contests and haven't had a potd in a year and a half. Re: your situation, I know you're bright enough to realize that you'll only get out of something the corresponding effort you put into it. That's just life

Thank you for visiting and commenting. I remember a time when I had the number one spot on the top 100 new poems. I was also in second spot, lower down at times, but still there. POTD...POTW...sometimes. It's not the same. I don't have the luxury of time now due to my caregiving duties to spend as I did before. Such is life. Richard and I communicate on FB, so we get to read each other's poems there, but PS has different feel to it, and I hope things improve with time. Thank you for the advice.
