Nothing Much Changes

when the sun goes down it is always night

the world goes silent dying into whispers

we grow one day older the day after

No wiser than when we let love slip by

chasing around catching shiny things

accolades for our broken empty hearts

songs of fading youth echo in our soul

too late to cash in, seasons are changing

many autumns have come and gone yet

we still cry over the leaf at the first fall
