Nothing At All

You ask me quite simply,
“Is anything wrong?”
I reply in an instant,
“No, nothing at all.”
You let it go,
How could you not see?
All of the pain inside my gold eyes?
Nothing at all put rocks in my pockets,
And threw me out to sea.
Nothing at all followed me each day,
Even when the sun shone so bright.
Nothing at all scared away all my friends,
With mean and scary words.
Nothing at all has made me afraid,
Has ruined my life,
Has buried me deep.
Please save me.
I cannot breathe.
