Note To Self
Cupboards bare with a child to feed
Writer’s block not producing a penny
Bipolar rampant, puberty striking too
A house of hormones and moods, stress aplenty
Bills are due, groceries are needed
Dental work, mental work, guitar and the car
Therapy, play dates, sleep over’s, appointments
A nap always needed, yet ever so far
Homework, housework, yard work, no work
Play gets mixed in to make things fun
Day time, night time, noon time, all times
Having to be on from dawn to setting sun
My time is her time, what’s mine is hers
I gladly gave my life to let my daughter grow
Still, I do need to learn to allow for myself
For if I do not take care of me I will blow
