Note To Self

I’ve been told that Loving is silent. Whoever coined that had forgotten about the battles, the blood, the breathlessness it causes. To love is to completely lose your person and build a new you with the remnants of your soul. To love is to leave your mind and fall over backward for someone who might not exist in your future.

I've been told that Love is easy. What about the bloodshed, the agony, the pain, the fear, all this and much more. To love someone is making space for their needs in your compact home of a heart. To love someone is to love them properly and thoroughly and leaving no space for you to love you.

I’ve been told that to Love is to Live. If it is at all to live then why am I awake at this hour feeling miserable. To love is to stay awake when you should really be sleeping, to be right there, standing for him, waiting, with your fingers crossed and hoping that he finds his way back to you.

To Love someone is to let go of yourself, completely, and I am not ready for this bargain.

You are so wise to "not be ready to give yourself up yet to giving yourself up". I enjoyed this.
