Note To Self

Life is pain a splendid tattoo as with all pain I grin and bear it too for what more than pain makes life so tangible the experience of being being surely unregretable 2010.12.26

Feeling pain..knowing pain...is living life..If we couldnt feel pain..we wouldnt appreciate those glorious moments when pain isnt present...So much said in this note dear.

Ah! In another place and another time, Emily Dickinson might have written: 'Life is a tatoo. It can be painful. It can be gainful. Ah, too, it can be insane-ful.' (See "Fame is a bee," by Emily D.) … Don't mind me. Just a stray thought. Thank you for supplying the ingredients! Best wishes, Gershon

God gave us pain as a gift. First to warn and then to correct. Without it we would scarcely feel connected to our bodies. Pain grounds us to earth. Your poems makes us think outside the norm.. love it!

Thank you Lyric Man! True enough. Consider Congenital Analgesia, when one cannot feel pain at all, one rarely survives childhood. Pain is indeed necessary. Thank you for appreciating my normal ;) xomo!

Lovely said my friend. According to Westley in The Princess Bride "life is pain, anyone who says otherwise is selling something". But really, pain is life. It is is good to have a mind that does not let itself be absorbed by pain. If we were all that strong, just think, no more suicide. Sounds awesome. But this is a life appreciation piece. Missed ya dear poet! xomo
