Not Poetess Enough
They claim I'm not descriptive enough,
That my writing lacks a certain rough
A rawness, a vividness to see
That makes readers feel they're free.
They say my English is too plain,
Not ornate, not refined to gain
The title of a poetess grand
Or a writer with a skilled hand.
But I write from deep within,
With every word, a story to spin
Of love, loss, and life's many hues,
That resonate with people's views.
I may not use flowery speech,
Or expressions that are out of reach,
But my words convey the essence true
Of the world, and what it means to you.
For me, writing is not a show,
Or a competition for the flow
Of language, or the depth of thought,
It's a means to share what I have brought.
So let them say what they may,
I'll keep writing in my simple way,
For words are not just a display
But a means to connect and convey.
